testimonials

Just one of my many customers views. Read them all HERE.

“I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed my massage today. People had said you were good and you certainly lived up to my expectations! Right from the start, you made me feel at ease.  The massage itself was relaxing and energising all at the same time. Afterwards I think I probably didn’t need my car as I could have floated home!
Thank you Claire you certainly helped my aches and pains and I’ll be back soon.”

Massage is a wonderful way of preparing a woman for childbirth. Pregnancy massage is an adapted treatment that allows for the comfort of the clients growing tummy and physiological changes, i.e. heartburn, sciatica, pelvic discomfort, nasal congestion and upper and lower back tension. Following the birth, massage treatments can assist the body to rebalance and encourages a natural and rapid recovery.

The benefits of massage in pregnancy

It is relaxing – It helps to stop the build-up of tension especially in the neck and shoulders in early pregnancy and again in the later stages, when the lower back can cause problems, due to the extra weight of the baby.

It tones muscles – Massage helps to combat the aches and pains that are often situated around the lower back and hip area, which can be caused by muscular tension and distended ligaments. It also alleviates cramp especially in the calf and thigh muscles.

It improves skin tone – Massage maintains the skins suppleness and elasticity and can help to prevent stretch marks and the formation of varicose veins.

It is uplifting and revitalizing – It improves the flow of energy and minimizes fatigue, which is usual during the first three months and again towards the end of the pregnancy. It can help boost self esteem when the physical changes become overwhelming.

It improves circulation – This helps to prevent varicose veins, thread veins and haemorrhoids.

It stimulates the lymphatic system – It encourages the elimination of waste products from the body throughout pregnancy and helps combat the tendency towards fluid retention in the later stages of pregnancy.

It induces a general feeling of wellbeing – The therapeutic effect of massage induces physical and mental relaxation.

It prepares the body for childbirth – By keeping the whole system relaxed and in harmony massage in pregnancy helps to prepare the body for childbirth.
